Every couple has their own love story, and I’m always honored when they choose me to help tell it. Here are three fantastic couples and some of my favorite images that give us a glimpse into their stories.

First up, we’ve got Shelby and Ryan. The gin-clear water of the Florida Springs offers a beautiful setting, but it’s this couple’s genuine love for each other that makes this underwater shoot so magical.
Ryan was a little more reserved starting out. He couldn’t really see in the water, and with his glasses off he couldn’t see well above water either. But he followed Shelby’s lead. Talk about some serious trust in your partner. They say “Love is blind,” right?

Another great Florida Springs couples shoot with a totally different tone is this one featuring Deborah and Olivia.
Both of them were very comfortable in the water and wanted to try something a little more challenging in terms of posing. I think the result speaks for itself!
The shapes they created with each other reminded me of a classical art piece, so I harnessed the sunlight that was available to capture that feeling. Deborah and Olivia both have several prints from this session hanging up at home. I hope the art serves as a constant reminder of their experience for years to come.

And it wouldn’t be an underwater love story without a mer-couple, right? Celeste — a professional mermaid out of Orlando, Florida — wanted to capture some special shots with her fiancé while wearing their matching dolphin tails.
It was an insane workout to keep up with these two while they frolicked around in monofins! Mermaid photography isn’t new to me, but this was my first time photographing a mermaid and a merman as a couple. That opened up a lot of cool posing possibilities and, honestly, was just really fun.
